Tell me about your stupid wraps.

I wrote a post on Friday about how being a distributor with ItWorks! Global really works. When I invited my Facebook friends to give me some questions about ItWorks for my blog, I also received a few about some of our products, specifically our Ultimate Body Applicator (that crazy wrap thing). Below are my best answers to your questions!

What is the wrap?
It's a non-woven cloth infused with creams that tighten, tone, and firm your skin in as little as 45 minutes. This is the thing people used to pay a few hundred dollars for in a salon, but it's now available to you in the comfort of your home for just $59!

Does it actually work?
When used correctly, yes. You have to drink your water though and it helps to measure yourself and take a "before" picture.
These are my results after two wraps.

And these are my results after four!

I used one wrap and it didn't work. Why didn't it work for me?
First of all, you used one. A box comes with four for a reason; four is a full treatment. People can often tell a difference after just one, but it sometimes takes a full treatment to make a noticeable difference. Also, did you drink the recommended amount of water? This is so important! Did you sweat or eat while wearing it? These two things can definitely hinder your results.

Like any health or beauty product, the wrap is not a one size fits all product. It may not deliver amazing results for every person, and that's okay. That doesn't make it a scam or a bad product.

Why are ItWorks products better than what I can find at GNC or a drugstore
I'm not going to claim they're necessarily "better," but they're more beneficial. First of all, our products are natural and plant-based. Most are non-GMO and gluten-free. Second, when your purchase from ItWorks, you're helping someone support their family. You're helping a student pay her tuition, a father pay for groceries. ItWorks is a business for each and every distributor and when you become a customer, you're helping to support us. And finally, you earn rewards points for being an ItWorks customer. We give you 10% back with every purchase you make. These are called Perks Points, and they become product credit on another purchase!

Are ItWorks products regulated by the FDA?
No. Neither was the prenatal vitamin I took when I was pregnant. Most vitamins and supplements you can purchase from a store floor are NOT regulated by the FDA.
However, we are FDA-approved.

How do the prices of ItWorks! products compare to what I can find in a drugstore or supplement store?
They're competitive prices and are similar to what you'd pay in store for quality wellness vitamins/supplements. Unfortunately, you're adding shipping on to the price when you invest in ItWorks! but I listed a few reasons above for why it's still worth it to purchase from us!
I've tried lots of different supplements and vitamins from stores, and all of them ranged from $25-$40, just as our products do. In addition, they also all made me nervous and jittery. None of the ItWorks! products do that!

Is ItWorks! only for weight loss?
No! We have an amazing skin care line (Lip & Eye is my personal favorite!), as well as essential oils!

Why should I become a loyal customer?
Plainly put, you should become a loyal customer to get my 40% discount on every product every single time your order. Becoming a loyal also allows you to earn Perks Points (product credit) on every single order!

How do I become a loyal customer?
Two ways. The first way is to pay a $50 membership fee, just as you would a Costco or Sam's Club membership to get wholesale pricing. This is not the most popular option, but it's there for those who want it! The second option, and the best one, in my opinion, is to sign up for a three month shipment. This allows you to try a product for three months or try a different product once a month for 3 months, all while earning perks points and getting my distributor discount.
After the three months, you can turn off your auto-shipment or keep ordering and get free shipping on that fourth order!

Does ItWorks! have a money-back guarantee?
No. If companies like ours had money-back guarantees, we'd be digging our
own grave. It's hard to regulate what does and doesn't actually work for different people, and it makes no sense to have a money-back guarantee when we can't determine whether or not a customer used the product(s) correctly. Personally, I don't think that any health company should have a money-back guarantee because the product itself isn't going to lose weight for you! You've got to put in the effort!

How do I order ItWorks products?
You can ordering by visiting my website, www.fitmamakate.itworks.com

I hope I've cleared some things up for y'all today! If you have any additional questions about ItWorks, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! I'd be happy to help you get started!

So how does it work? Really.

I received several questions about ItWorks when I posted about this blog post on my Facebook a couple of days ago. Most were about the business, but I did get a couple about our products, so I'm splitting this into two separate posts.

Today I'm talking about the business side of ItWorks; on Tuesday, I'll be talking about some of our products, including our famous "skinny wraps!"

Thank you SO much to those of you who inboxed me with a question. I am happy to answer these for you as honestly as I can!

This post is pretty lengthy, so get comfortable! Here we go...

I know there are so many people out there who really want to know (but are afraid to ask) how does this company really work?!
I feel like people who are not ItWorks! distributors look atit as a taboo subject, something that cannot be disclosed unless you are alegit distributor with ItWorks! Global. However, that is far from the truth. Our compensation plan is available to the public (Google it), as is our income disclosurechart, which I've placed below.

Even still, many people may read it and think, Okay, but… What’s the catch? There has to bea catch. Right?
Well, no. Not really. Let me explain.

Signing up to become a distributor is easy. You go to the website and click JOIN. Add the Business Builder Kit to your cart. ItWorks! does give you the option to “boost” your kit and add more wraps, but it’s totally upto you whether or not you do that.

This is what the kit looks like. Lots of fun stuff plus wraps and defining gel samples!
You check out and you’re done. You have immediate access to your ItWorks! website (known as your eSuite) and you can begin enrolling customers/team members right away. By the time my kit physically arrived, I actually had five or six loyal customers!

How are you paid?
Via an online pay portal that allows you to transfer to your bank account or to an ItWorks Prepaid Card, Distributors are paid once a month. Bonuses are awarded every Thursday or Friday afternoon. These fast-start bonuses are super easy to get once you get going. I love getting an extra $100 nearly every week! This week I actually received two bonuses and got $199! I was super excited!

Okay, but isn’t there a certain amount you have to sell to be paid? Don’t you have to reach a monthlyquota? Will you be charged if you don’t meet that quota?
Two options. You can set up an autoship of about $80 for yourself to guarantee payment (I always advise my team members to do this, as people want to see that you’re using the products you’re promoting!) OR you cansell about $150 in products monthly to loyal customers. Both of these options are super easy. About two thirds of my distributors have their own autoship set up, and about a third of them rely mainly on customer sales. So far, no one, to my knowledge ,has had any problems with these options.

No, you’re not charged anything if you don’t sell a certain amount of products. You’re simply paid based on one of two things: having your autoship set up OR having $150 in cumulative sales.

So do people end up spending more than they actually make??
Let me just be real. This sometimes happens to new distributors in their first month or first two months.

Example: They pay $99 for the startup kit, then some of them will want to set up an autoship of about $100 so they can try some products. That’s about $199 spent. Based on what day of the month they sign up and whether or not they sell those first four wraps, they may very well make less than what they spent during that first month. That’s why I tell every new distributor to give it at least three months. It takes time to get started, like any new business!
I also must add here that a new distributor can sign with ten days left in the month plus buy an additional $100 in products to try, but if they take off in their business and begin signing up a bunch of loyal customers immediately, they're going to be pretty happy with that first check three weeks later!
Again, this varies from person to person. I was very pleased with my first check from ItWorks! and if you ask any distributor who wasn’t, they’ll all tell you that it’s worth it to stick with it and watch how that income goes up and up each month!

What is the monthly cost of being a distributor? What do I absolutely have to spend each month?
The autoship is completely optional. Aside from that, it’s $20 a month for your website (your first month with the website is free; it was covered in your $99 startup). Coming from someone who blogs, that’s not bad at all. I pay yearly for my blog; with ItWorks!, you simply pay monthly.

Do people have to buy the products directly from you then pick them up?
No, they order straight from my website. Products go directly to them. I handle no inventory aside from the wraps I purchase myself to sell for wrap cash!

Is ItWorks a pyramid scheme?
Pyramid schemes are illegal. We’ve been around since 2001, and I feel confident that if we were doing anything sneaky, we’d have been shut down long ago. We are multilevel marketing, so there are promotional levels and places for advancement in this business (pretty sure this is common in others businesses as well). Work hard and you’ll get there. Also, it is very possible for you to surpass the people “above you.” In real pyramid schemes, this is not possible and very few people ever make it to the “top.”

Let me also just throw this out there and because I'm a retired teacher, I have to. I can't not put this out there. It's my blog. Okay, here we go...
If ItWorks! is a pyramid scheme, so is teaching. As a new teacher, you’re paid a crap salary to deal with crap. Say what you will, but it’s crap. Teachers do some incredible things, but they’re extremely underpaid. You can stay in it for years, be an awesome teacher, and hardly make a higher salary each year.
Above you is the principal or perhaps an instructional facilitator. They deal with crap too but make a little more money than you do. You can join their ranks, but you’ve gotta pay a lot of money for a higher degree and work even harder. Your salary is likely to still be crap though.

Above the principal is the superintendent. They, too, deal with a lot of crap from even more people, but they typically make apretty good income. Work as hard as you can, and you may still never become a Superintendent. Get all the degrees, get involved in the politics, and you may still never. get. there.

After the superintendent, there are positions at the StateBoard of Education. I have absolutely no idea what all kinds of crap they deal with, nor do I have any information about how to get those jobs and I have no intentions of ever finding out.

I love and care about education and gave the above analogy with a slick side of humor, so please don’t be offended if you are a teacher; I’m a (retired) teacher too! This is just the best way I can explain the whole pyramid thing because I was a teacher for four years and saw how corrupt oureducation system really is.

Work hard with ItWorks, and you’ll get there. It takes some people two months to go Diamond. It takes others about a year. For some, it takes a few years. Either way, if it took you five years to earn an average of$2,000-$15,000 each month on the side or as your full time income, would you say it was worth it? Think about it.

Is ItWorks a scam?
Scams typically take money from you with no product or service in return. If you go to my website and sign up to become a loyal customer or even purchase a product at retail price, you’re going to receive that product. If for some reason you don’t receive your product(s), our customer service team is amazing. They’re likely to refund your money immediately and/or send you the product for free. They do everything to make our customers happy;we seriously have the best customer service!

I don’t see anything scammy about getting a product you paid for.
Let me also say that just because the product did not work for you or did not work as well as you wanted it to, that does not make ItWorks! a scam.

Just because you “made no money” in the two months you tried being a Distributor, that does not make this business a scam.

Do I have to "build a team" to be successful?
Nope. You can make a lot of money simply by selling products and gathering customers (I guess I could have also disclosed this in the pyramid question earlier). At the same time, it's highly likely that you'll eventually find customers who love the products so much, they'll want to sign up and do this with you! Again, it's not necessary at all to build a team, but it sure is worth it to share this with others!

I absolutely love what I do. I love that this is my full-time job. I love that I'm retired at twenty-five years old. I never saw this for myself, but it was God's plan--not my own. I'm very grateful that He placed this business in my life when He did. It's truly been a blessing!
Feel free to send me an email if you want more information on ItWorks products (post coming Tuesday!) or on becoming a Distributor! I'm happy to tell you more!

Working from Home

I really don't like to call myself a stay-at-home-mom. It bothers me even more when anyone refers to my job as "being a mom." Being a mother is my responsibility--not my job. But for the past couple of months, I've stayed home to take care of Vaught and yes, I am working from home and making actual money.

If you come here often, and I hope that you do, then you know that in December, I became a distributor for ItWorks! Global. I was a customer with the company for eight months before finally taking the leap. I knew I didn't want to continue teaching; I want to say that I knew, even then, that I probably wouldn't be able to finish the year.

I never saw myself getting into the network marketing business, but let's be honest: it was the only thing that was going to get me out of teaching the quickest. I had friends who were distributors for ItWorks, and I saw their success. There was this girl, Chelsie, and I knew that in less than two years as a distributor, she'd made this company her full time job. I decided that if I was going to be another girl on Facebook selling something, it had to be ItWorks. I had a story, a testimony with the company.

I'd told myself several times last summer that I could probably sign up to do this. I'd even thought that if I could just pull in an extra couple hundred dollars each month, it would be worth it, but I kept coming up with reasons to say no, excuses not to sign up.

Reaching my breaking point as a teacher in December was the final straw though. I signed up on December 29th, and my business immediately took off.

So now I'm at home every day, and I'm loving it. I love having a job I can work from anywhere, at any time. I'm not glued to my phone while playing with Vaught; I schedule a lot of my social media posts using the app HootSuite, and I'm messaging loyal customers, potential team members, and my team in between play time and nap time. And I typically stay up a couple of hours after my guys are asleep to work.
I love that I'm not missing these precious moments with Vaught. I do plan on taking him to mother's day out one day a week starting in June, but it's pretty amazing to think that I may very well be done with corporate America, at least until I finish my Master's degree in December (hopefully, dear Lord).

If you're looking for something that might allow you this same opportunity, you should seriously contact me! I absolutely love ItWorks; I'm a proud wrap girl because I've seen what this company can do for my family. It can do that for you too!

I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

I see you, mama.
You're up before the sun breaks the darkness. You're spending a few minutes with God, you're cooking breakfast, you're packing lunches.
You've got about 20 minutes to get yourself and the little ones ready and get out the door.
You're still pulling a comb through your hair as you start the car.
I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

I see you.
You're prying your baby's fingers out of your hand as you drop her off at daycare. You know she'll be fine once you're gone, but you always hate to leave her.
You're on your feet all day. You're counting money. Leading meetings.  Cutting hair. Tending to sick patients. Teaching preschoolers.
I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

I see you.
You come home tired and in need of a nap, but there's so much more to do. You've got hungry mouths to feed, homework to help get done. Just when you finally sit down to eat, your youngest throws his bowl of macaroni into the floor. He's a mess, but you don't mind; he's cute and giggly and covered in noodles.
I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

I see you.
The little ones are in bed, and you've got an hour before its time for you to collapse too. You could catch up on laundry. Or your favorite show. Or open that book you've been meaning to read. You fold laundry while watching TV and call yourself an excellently skilled multitasker.
I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

I see you.
Your head finally hits the pillow and as exhausted as you are, you can't help but feel thankful. You pray for your little ones and thank God for the blessing of being their mama. You spend a few minutes with Him just before falling asleep.
I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

You're tired, you're busy, but you wouldn't want it any other way. Each day brings something new. Never think for a second that your efforts go unnoticed; you're appreciated not on just one day but every single day of the year. Keep pushing. Keep loving. Keep mothering.

I see you, mama. And you're doing just fine.

Over It.

I strongly believe God has a sense of humor.

Actually, I'm certain of it. I imagine Him shaking his giant, all-knowing head as He tries to hold in a laugh when we're being basic humans and screwing up, when we're freaking out over small things, and when we just don't seem to be "getting it."

Lately, I can hear His words to me loud and clear. They wouldn't be more evident if He sent them via paper airplane and hit me in the face or had them plastered on a billboard on the side of the highway.

"Kate, you need to get over it."

Stop whining, stop worrying, and stop stressing yourself out over things outside of your control.

Also, stop inviting people to be a part of your drama. This doesn't help them, and it certainly doesn't help you. Vent it out when you need to. Call someone you trust and get it out.

What should you do after that? Buck up and move on.

Get. Over it.

I can't believe the naivety that consumed me when I was younger. Currently, I'm waiting to take my last final as a graduate student this semester, and I remember when I thought finals week at Ole Miss was the absolute number one most stressful week of my life. I would call my mother in tears, telling her I just couldn't handle the stress.

LOL.

I've been through so much in the past year, in 2016 alone. I recently had to face a really tough situation, and I thought it was the kicker.

This is it, I thought. This will kill me. This is my demise. I'm not going to make it out of this.

But I made it. I cried, I was angry, I vented, and I made it through. Sometimes I still get upset about it, and I know it's okay for me to feel that anger sometimes, but I can also feel God telling me it's all going to be okay.

Getting over it is hard, but it's not really as hard as hanging on to whatever is hurting you. Cry about it, rant about it, pray about it, and let it go.

A hard drink wouldn't hurt either.
